The receiver also interprets Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) signals that help you receive information from terrestrial antennas even when your view of the sky is clogged. Adding to the GPS technologies, the Oregon 650t also features HotFix satellite prediction that uses an algorithm to simulate the movement of the Earth. This technology helps the receiver to quickly regain the satellite connection after a couple of days of non-use eliminating long initialization times.

With built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass, the Garmin Oregon 650t GPS Unit shows your heading even while standing still, no matter how it is positioned.
